Linklaters announces the appointment of Andrew Chung as its new Managing Partner for China. In this role, Andrew will contribute towards key management decisions that help shape the firm’s strategy.

Andrew joined the firm in August 2018 as a Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations partner in Hong Kong SAR and supports some of our key clients on matters related to investigations, regulatory issues, disputes and white-collar crime in Greater China and beyond. Andrew brings with him significant experience in the financial services sector, having held a senior position with a major U.S. investment bank with broad responsibilities for investigations, disputes and other areas.

Andrew takes over from William Liu who will continue in his role as Asia Regional Managing Partner.

Linklaters’ Firmwide Managing Partner, Paul Lewis, commented:

“China continues to be an important market for Linklaters and a key part of our global network. I thank William for his strong leadership of the China market over the past six years and the ongoing role he will play in Asia as Regional Managing Partner.”

Linklaters’ Asia Managing Partner, William Liu, commented:

“Andrew has significant leadership experience at global, regional and local levels across the firm. We are grateful to him for taking on this senior management role and sharing the China leadership responsibilities with me. We are confident that with his strong business and commercial understanding, the firm’s relationships with our key clients and stakeholders will continue to thrive.”

Linklaters’ China Managing Partner, Andrew Chung added:

“I look forward to working with all of the partners in our incredible, market leading practices, together with the regional and firm-wide leadership to drive forward the continued success of our Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing offices.”
