MATS Law School, MATS University is pleased to announce the annual 3rd Shri Mangi Lal Pagariya Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2015

Date: 18th – 20th September, 2015
Venue: MATS Law School, MATS University, Arang Campus, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Objective of Competition:
The objective of this competition is to introduce law students to important issues arising in Intellectual Property Rights Litigation. Law students who participate in the competition will have an opportunity to develop their skills of brief writing and oral advocacy skills in a moot courtroom experience.

Eligibility:

  • Students pursuing three or five year courses of LL.B. from any recognized Law School / College / University in India or abroad.
  • Any recognized Law School / College / University shall be entitled to send only one team to the Competition.
  • Only 20 teams shall be allowed to participate in the Competition on first-come-first-serve basis.

Team Composition:

  • Each team shall consist of minimum of 2 and maximum 3 members. This number cannot be altered under any circumstances.
  • Each team shall include two speakers, who may be accompanied by one researcher, all of whom shall have to be accordingly designated during the registration process. Each team shall have a team code and each member shall be given an individual code. The team code shall be sent to the teams through e-mails. The respective team codes have to be mentioned in the top right corner of the cover page of the Written Submissions.
  • Only those teams that send the Memorial and Counter-Memorial as per details given in notification shall be allowed to participate in the competition.
  • In case of contingency the researcher may substitute the speaker only with prior permission of the Director, MATS Law School.

Registration:
Each team shall register with the Organizing Committee to participate in the competition. Registration is a two-step process comprising of submission of the registration form and payment of the registration fees.

Online Provisional Registration of Institution:

Teams are required to submit the soft copy of Demand Draft along with scanned copies of the completely filled registration forms by 14/08/2015 (11:59 PM IST) and the hard copies of the same should reach us by 31/08/2015.

Registration Fee:

The Registration Fee for participating teams shall be Rs. 2000/-
Registration after due date may be permitted with a late fee of Rs. 500/-

Payment of Registration Fee:

  • Teams must make payment by Demand Draft. The Demand Draft shall be made in favor of “MATS University” payable at Raipur.
  • On Registration, the Team shall be assigned a Team Code.
  • A Team that has registered may change its composition only after informing of such change. Any changes with respect to the contact details shall be notified with immediate effect. This obligation to inform shall continue throughout the course of Competition, till that team is eliminated from the competition.

Hospitality:
Accommodation, Food and Local Transportation to the participating teams shall be provided by MATS Law School from the morning of 18th September, 2015 to the evening of 20th September, 2015. The name and mobile number of the student volunteer in charge of transport / accommodation shall also be provided after finalization.

Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: 30th July, 2015
Release of Clarifications 31st July, 2015
Registration Deadline (online): 14th August, 2015
Receiving of Registration form and DD submission: 31st August, 2015
Brief Submission Deadline (soft copy): 31st August, 2015
Brief Submission Deadline (6 sets print copies) 5th September, 2015
Competition Weekend: 18th – 20th September, 2015
