Vidhi Policy Challenge on ‘Blockchain Technology’

Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent think tank doing legal research and assisting government in making better laws. Vidhi is organising a team-based policy competition for law students. The inaugural edition of this competition shall focus on Blockchain Technology and its integration with public policy.

STAGES

The competition will be held in three stages, with the first stage requiring the submission of a Policy Proposal, containing a Problem Statement and a Solution to the problem.

Ten teams qualify to stage two, where teams would have to provide a longer and more elaborate paper, detailing the larger relevance of the problem that they identified and the nature and extent of their solution (and how it could be implemented).

Finally, all ten teams would present and defend their ideas to an expert panel in the lead up to Vidhi’s annual Briefing Book launch event.

ELIGIBILITY AND DATES

The competition is open to law students in 3rd, 4th, or 5th year in five-year law programmes and 3rd year students in three-year law programmes. Inter-university teams are permitted.

Applications are now open and entires are due October 28, 2017.

Entries must include a Problem Statement and a Proposed Solution that should not exceed 1,000 words in total.

Additionally, teams must submit a 100-250 word abstract and details of the team members.

PRIZES

The winners of this challenge would receive Rs. 30,000/- as prize money along with a four-week internship with Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy.

The first runners up shall receive Rs. 20,000/- as prize money.

All ten finals teams shall receive a Certificate and final entries shall be considered for publication by Vidhi.

With this, we invite all interested and eligible law students to participate in the inaugural edition of the Vidhi Policy Challenge.
