Global law firm Dentons advised a major Turkish renewable energy group, on the acquisition of solar and energy storage (battery) projects in Romania with capacities of 45 MW and 41 MW, along with an additional storage capacity of 50 MW.

The Turkish group has extensive experience in solar energy: it operates solar energy plants in TĂĽrkiye with a total capacity of approximately 500 MW.

Dentons also recently advised another Turkish company on the acquisition of an 11 MW solar project in Romania.

Dentons advised on all legal aspects of the acquisitions, from completing extensive due diligence to drafting, negotiating, and closing the transaction.

Senior associate Cosmin Roman led the transactions with the help of associate Mihut Radu, under the supervision of partner Cristian Popescu; the wider team included associate Ruxandra Ronea and junior associate Patricia Botezatu (all Corporate M&A).

Cristian Popescu commented, “These acquisitions demonstrate the strong interest investors have in Romania’s energy sector, driven by the country’s substantial potential in both wind and solar energy.”
