DLA Piper has advised MJM Holdings Capital Group, a leading commercial insurance broker, on the establishment of a strategic partnership with Leadenhall Insurance, a Polish tech-enabled independent managing general agent (MGA), founded in 2010.

Leadenhall’s partnership with MJM Holdings represents a significant step forward with the potential to introduce additional insurance capacity to the Polish market and enable both companies to act as best-in-class, high-quality insurance providers.

DLA Piper had earlier advised Corsair Capital, leading private equity firm, on the acquisition of MJM Holdings.

One of Poland’s leading insurance distribution businesses, MJM Holdings holds a collection of best-in-class platforms consisting of Attis Broker (corporate insurance) Smartt Re (reinsurance), MJM Brokers (motor), and MJM Risk Management (risk management and advisory services).

Leadenhall Insurance provides comprehensive insurance solutions, including product development, underwriting, claims handling, and more.

A cross-border and multi-practice DLA Piper team from its offices in Poland, the UK, and Luxembourg worked on the transaction and was led by Corporate partner Piotr Miller. He was supported by partners Carl Hotton (Corporate) and George Mortimer (Lit&Reg), Senior Associates Kamila Możdżeń, Michał Bałdowski, Olga Leśniewska, Emilia Kalecka, Piotr Czulak, Agnieszka Staszek, and Matthew Hunter, counsels Izabela Gębal, Michał Orzechowski, Piotr Falarz and Dominika Wolf, associates Agnieszka Tarasiuk, Magdalena Kołodziejczyk, Bartłomiej Grela, Ronny Jenner, and Gemma Sprules, and junior associates Natalia Potrubacz, Konrad Nazarowski, Karol Kuterek and Michał Bandurski.

Piotr Miller, partner, commented: “This strategic partnership between MJM Holdings and Leadenhall Insurance marks another substantial step for the consolidation of the insurance brokerage sector in Poland and we are proud to have supported forming this market-leading alliance. The successful completion of this transaction clearly underscores the strength of our relationship with Corsair Capital, who we advised on the third significant transaction this year, and the power of our international platform.”
