ABOUT:

Dr. Mukund Sarda is doctorate from Osmania University, Andhra Pradesh (Gold Medalist),  LLM from University  of  Pune (Gold Medalist) and LLB from  Marathwada University, Pune (Gold Medalist). He is member of Legal educational Committee of Bar Council of India, New Delhi. He is also member of standing committee of Bar Council of India (New Delhi), International Council of Juristis (UK), Maratha Chamber of commerce, Indian Merchant Chamber, Confederation of Indian Industry, Academic Council of BVDU, Pune and many more. He is Editor in Chief of Bharati Law Review, New Law College; Pune. He has also attended the 51st prayer Breakfast with former President of America Barak Obama in January 2009.

        He invited for guest lectures in various University like Oxford University (UK), University of Warsaw (Poland), BeiHang University, School of Law(China). He expertise in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, International Law, Indian Evidence Act,1872, Indian Penal Code,1860, Code of Criminal Procedure,1973, Civil Procedure Code,1908, Media and Law, Human Rights and Family Law. He established academic linkages with Oxford University(UK), Harvard University (USA), Liverpool Law School(UK), University of Sussex(UK) and many more  Universities of  USA and UK.

AWARDS AND ACHEIVEMENTS:

  • Triple Gold Medalist
  • Best Teacher Award in 2003
  • Youngest Principal in India at the age of 25 years
  • National Legal Development Award in 2006
  • National Bar Award for excellence in Legal education in 2008

 

INTERVIEW: 

Aabha: Sir, as being a law professor, how would you like to introduce yourself to our readers?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Being a law professor I would like to introduce myself as student of law who want to learn law to its core. I always treat myself as student who always wants to learn something new in legal area.

 

Aabha: What inspired you to join law, were you able to satisfy yourself inspiration?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: According to my point of view law is most important part of our society. It provides an opportunity to make people smile by delivering justice which inspired me a lot.

 

Aabha: How was your law school journey?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: My law school journey was lot of hard work.

 

Aabha: What are opportunities that are open today to Law Students? How does one grow in this noble profession?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda:  Nowadays legal jobs are available not only in courts, but students can find different golden opportunities in different corporate houses, law firms, law agencies and many international legal sectors. To being a part of different international arenas are more to excel and exhibit talent.

Aabha: What’s the best thing about your job?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: The best thing about being a professor is to train young lawyers and to be justice provider.

Aabha: Sir, according to you what is the importance of Mooting, Publication and Internship in law student life?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Mooting, Publication and Internship are most important part of law student life.

  • Mooting is best for law student because moot challenges the mind of students. It is an effective technique of teaching law by means of practice.
  • Through Publication of legal article students can develop their editing and drafting skill.
  • Internship is a platform where students can learn various aspects of law. Internships are more effective way to gain knowledge.

 

Aabha: Did you face problems in taking up law as a teaching as a professor and how did you cope with all this?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: NO.

 

Aabha: What is the one thing that keeps you going?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Changes in life always encourages me to keep going.

Aabha: Law profession demands a lot of attention and determination and also sleepless nights, what are those thoughts, the ideas which you had in the initial days in your struggle which never let you sleep?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: The innovative ideas and desire to excel never let me sleep in my struggle days.

Aabha: The best experience and a success habit you would like to share as a student for our readers that would encourage them.

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: According to my point of view Discipline, best time management, pay attention in classroom are very important to achieve goals in our life.

 

Aabha: What would you suggest for the law students who are new to law profession and those who are graduating?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: For law students it is important to being regular in classrooms and pay attention in classroom and spent maximum time in reading room. According to my experiences for law graduates courtrooms are best place of learning.

 

Aabha: How do you measure the success of any person in their carrier?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Measure for the success of any person in their carrier is “how many people did he help.”

 

Aabha: What according to you should be the prime concern for law students?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: One and only Books

Aabha: What would your message to the Law students to encourage them and to grow them in their personal as well as professional lives?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: “Ready to learn more every day.”

 

Aabha: Please share the golden rules of your life which brought you here so that the student can gain from the useful insight and can inspire by you.

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Simplicity and hard work are golden key to achieve success in your life. According to me simplicity is the trademark of genius.

 

Aabha: In this long career when did you consider yourself a success?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: “Yet to achieve.”

 

Aabha: What’s the best way for a law student to get know you?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: The best place for a law student to get to know me is Classroom.

 

Aabha: Any suggestions or comments for the law students?

Prof. Dr. Mukund Sarda: Golden rule for law students are:

  • Hard work
  • Discipline
  • Do the reading
  • Create a best study plan
