Abhishek Sharma, Bachelors degree of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BIT-Mesra, Ranchi and Two Years Corporate experience at Sony India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. Currently, He is pursuing LLB (Honors) in Intellectual Property Rights from Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT-KHARAGPUR.

  1. Where did you intern in winter break and what was the duration of internship?

I had my internship at Wipro Technologies, Bangalore during December, 2014 for one Month.

  1. How was your experience with Wipro Technologies?
It was a knowledgeable experience. Being a innovation driven company, I was luck enough to work with its IP team regarding the Patent issues.
  1. What was your main responsibilities or tasks as a intern?

I worked on mainly Patent analysis, Drafting and Licensing Issues. I had to assist my seniors in the live                work involving Patent issues such as searching , drafting and other analysis. Moreover, I had assisted in             research work on the contemporary issues such as cyber crimes in intellectual property and other                           jurisdictional matters.

  1. Did you get any stipend?

           Yes. I got a stipend of Rs.12000.

  1. How was the office environment?

It is important to mention that Wipro has quite a strict security ensuring procedure. A black Scorpio belonging to the Quick Response Team of the police force, always stands vigilant at the main gates of the building. For the first few days, the interns were only allowed to enter on Guest Passes with an escort, till Access cards are issued within a week of joining. As you enter, you are directed by your escort to the HR department for, what is termed as Initiation and Orientation. I was allotted a laptop during internship. At the end of internship, the intern is supposed to make a presentation on a topic he/she may choose but which is ideally provided by the mentor. The presentation subject deals with any topic that might be relevant to Wipro’s business, and which might be a potential landmine or a magnet for lawsuits if the Legal team is not made aware of it.

  1. What is the application procedure for internship?

I got it through College Training and Placement Department.

  1. What will you suggest to our readers regarding the internship?
If you are avid enthusiast of Patents and innovation, this internship would help you a lot.
